About Lexington | Urgent Care
At Fast Pace Health, we understand that illnesses, injuries, and accidents can happen at any time, night or day. That is why we staff our urgent care clinics with a professional team of highly qualified health providers to help offer your fast, compassionate, and cost-effective care for you and your family. Our Lexington, TN walk-in urgent care clinic is conveniently located on Church Street.
Quality Care When You Need It
Here, at Fast Pace Health, we strive to make our urgent care clinics as accessible as possible. This is great for those who don’t have time to spare.
This is especially true when it comes to those far-off primary care appointments. In addition to the headache that can come with trying to schedule an appointment, many primary care offices have no after-hours care options for those needing treatment for injuries or illnesses after 5 p.m.
The good news is, we offer primary care at select Fast Pace Health locations. Primary care services include preventive care, women’s health, disease management, lab work, immunizations, and more.
Urgent Care vs. Emergency Room
Urgent care clinics serve as a great option if you’re looking to skip the crowded hospital emergency room departments. Hospital emergency departments see millions of patients every year, many of which do not end up as hospital admissions. Most reasons for emergency department visits are minor injuries and illnesses, making ERs busy. To make matters worse, many emergency departments are understaffed.
This is where urgent care comes in. Urgent care clinics help take the burden off of busy emergency room departments when it comes to treating mild illnesses and injuries. Conditions that do require emergency treatment include:
- Seizures
- Major trauma and bleeding
- Severe chest pains
- OB complications
- Life-threatening conditions
Save Time and Money With Urgent Care
One of the reasons you can be seen quicker in an urgent care clinic is the differences in patient triage. Emergency room departments treat the most critical patients; first, it doesn’t matter when they arrive. It is not first-come, first-serve.
This could put you and your throbbing ankle sprain at the back of the line in the emergency room. At our urgent care clinics, you can expect to wait around 15 minutes to be seen by one of our healthcare providers.
In most cases, emergency room visits also carry an expensive hospital bill. At Fast Pace Health, we accept most private insurance plans. We also offer self-pay options for those without insurance.
A Great Choice for Those in Rural Areas
We know how important urgent care is for those in rural areas. Our local urgent care centers seek to provide excellent urgent care, education, and accessibility for those who may be far from hospitals.
We Also Offer Telehealth Services
In addition, our Lexington urgent care center is now offering virtual care from the comfort of your home through our telehealth service. We’re open seven days a week. No appointment required. Just walk in or save your spot in line today.
Here at Fast Pace Health, we offer telehealth services for new and existing patients. Our telehealth services are similar to the care and services you’ll receive at one of our urgent care clinics, but you get to experience this care in the comfort of your home.
Our telehealth providers can provide care for numerous ailments. Plus, we can prescribe and/or refill many common medications associated with common illnesses.
No is no appointment required. Telehealth hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m CT, and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. CT.
Some Injuries and Illnesses We Treat
Our urgent care clinics are staffed with knowledgeable healthcare professionals equipped to handle various injuries and illnesses. Let’s take a look at some of the most common conditions that could bring you to our Lexington location.
Burns, Bruises, and Broken Bones
Many hospital emergency room departments are clogged with those seeking care for minor burns and broken bones. But urgent care clinics can help take the load off.
Our urgent care clinics are also set up to handle cases of mild burns. Minor burns are first-degree burns anywhere on the body or second-degree burns less than two or three inches in circumference.
Also, we can treat those minor injuries that don’t warrant expensive ER visits. These include broken bones, lacerations, scrapes, bruises, and bumps to the head that happen during everyday life.
However, the severity of the injury does matter. For example, major burns, severe lacerations, and compound fractures require immediate emergency medical attention.
Common Cold and Flu Symptoms
The common cold brings millions of people into the emergency room and primary care office annually. It is the number one reason for missed school and work.
For many, the symptoms can be hard to deal with. The nasal congestion, the coughing, and the sneezing can drag on for days, if not weeks. This is bad news if you’re having to wait for your appointment.
Flu symptoms are very similar to cold symptoms, with the exception of fevers, body aches, and fatigue. Thankfully, our urgent care clinics can diagnose and treat cold and flu symptoms to help you get back to work or school.
We Can Help Treat Most Infections
Infections can have a variety of causes, both bacterial and viral. Infections bring thousands into the emergency room or their primary care office every year.
Some common infections include ear infections, pink eye (conjunctivitis), and urinary tract infections (UTI). Ear infections are one of the number one reasons for emergency room visits for small children.
These infections are completely treatable with the right treatment and care. If you need care quickly to help treat infection, our urgent care staff is ready to help.
What Else Can We Treat?
The injuries and illnesses above are just a few of the medical conditions that our urgent care centers can treat. Some other reasons for visiting our urgent care include, but are not limited to:
